Philippines Volcanoes Team are now included on Asias top 5 at the historic win at HSBC Asian 5 Nations Division 1 Championships.

The Philippine Volcanoes defeated team Sri Lanka during the Asian Rugby eliminations Saturday night, April 22, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The historic 28-18 win put the Philippines in the rugby map.

The Sri Lankan team was once ranked 49th in the world and had been competing in the past Asian 5 Nations Championship.

They are now in 56th place and failing to qualify for next year’s Asian5 is a disappointment to the Sri Lankan president, whose 2 sons are members of the national team.
