Typhoon ( Bagyong ) Juaning Update July 28, 2011
According to the Philippines weather bureau PAGASA as of 4:00 am today, July 28, 2011 Tropical Storm "JUANING" was estimated based on radar, satellite and surface data at 240 km West Southwest of Laoag City (17.8°N; 118.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.
signal number 1 was hoisted over the following areas:
Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Pangasinan and Zambales.
Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.
Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
TS "JUANING" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring widespread rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides over the Rest of Luzon and Western Visayas.
The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
