Typhoon ( Bagyong ) "Quiel" Update October 3, 2011
According to the Philippines weather bureau PAGASA as of 4:00 pm today, October 2, 2011, Typhoon "QUIEL" has weakened as it moves farther away from the country. The eye of Typhoon "QUIEL" was located based on satellite and surface data at 370 km West Northwest of Baguio City (16.9°N 116.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move West at 20 kph. Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 740 km East of Visayas (12.0°N 133.0°E).
Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.
Typhoon "Quiel" enhances the Southwest Monsoon and brings rains over western section of Southern Luzon.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
