A 6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Indonesia Province Papua

A strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck near the coast of Indonesia's Papua province Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warnings issued.

The quake hit at a depth of 22.4 miles (36 kilometers), 100 miles (161 kilometers) from Enarotali, at 9:16pm local time.

Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where the meeting of continental plates causes high seismic activity, and is frequently hit by earthquakes.
