How To Speed Up your BitTorrent Connection

If you want to speed up your bitTorrent connection in spite of the software that your ISP is using, here are some steps that you can follow.

First of all, you will need to download a special program called P2PTurbo. This program is a type of freeware that helps to boost the download speeds for your bitTorrent connection. The P2PTurbo can be downloaded from the Internet for free. It is a relatively small file, which means that you should be able to download it in just a minute or so.

Install. After you have finished downloading the file, look for the installer file in your Downloads folder. Once you have found it, right click the file to show the Run command. Run the program to start the installation process. Once the program has finished installing, you can then proceed to opening the program by clicking on its icon on the desktop. Alternately, you can also find the program in your Start menu button on the left part of the taskbar.

On the first time that you install and open the program, it will ask you for the type of P2P program that you use for downloading. There are a number of programs to choose from, apart from bitTorrent. Most of the major downloading programs are found in the list, and plans are being made to include uTorrent to the list of programs that P2PTurbo can work with. After you have selected the program, you can manually adjust all of the settings for the ports and networks that you connect to. Keep in mind, however, that you should only tinker with these settings if you know what you are doing. Otherwise, the default settings will do. Click on the scan button, and the program will begin looking for faults in your connection.

After the scanning has been completed, the program will give you a list of optimizations that it can do for your downloading program. You can uncheck any of the optimizations that you feel are not needed, but generally it is best to just let the program do its job and optimize your download settings as much as possible. The program will also provide you with the expected percentage by which your download speed can be increased. Click on the Boost button to initiate the optimizations process.

After you have pressed the Boost button, you will only need to wait for a couple of seconds for the program to finish the optimization. Once this is finished, all you need to do is to launch your P2P program. Find the bitTorrent application in your start menu, and then click on it. Add torrents, and check whether you have noticed any increase in your download speed.
