June 13, 2011 is not declared holiday in the Philippines

Malacanang earlier announced that June 12, 2011 will remain a regular holiday which is our 113th Independence Day and that it will not be moved to Monday, June 13.
Former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on July 25, 2007 signed into law Republic Act (RA) 9492 that designated specific dates for 11 Regular National Holidays and three Nationwide Special Holidays.

“We have holidays that were moved to the nearest Monday but there were also some not moved primarily because these celebrations are meant to stay on that day. June 12 was not moved,” said Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte.
