Typhoon ( Bagyong ) Falcon Update June 25, 2011






A new Low Pressure Area ( LPA ) enters the Philippine Area of Responsibilities after the tropical depression Egay. According to the Philippines weather bureau PAGASA as of 4:00 a.m. today, June 25, 2011 Tropical Storm "FALCON" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 590 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (26.0°N, 124.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 105kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 24 kph.

Weather bureau forecasters said that by Saturday morning, Falcon will be at 590 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes or at 270 km West Southwest of Okinawa, Japan.

Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes group of islands will have rains with gusty winds while the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience Monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will be mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and coming from the Southeast to Southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

Typhoon Falcon caused more than P25M of worth of damaged according to the NDRRMC...
