5.9 Earthquake Hit the Philippines July 26, 2011






A magnitude 5.9 struck parts of the Philippines on Tuesday at 1:15AM according to the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology Institute (Phivolcs).

The earthquake’s origin was tectonic and shallow with its epicenter 13 km northwest of Iba, Zambales.

The quake was felt in the following areas:
  • Intensity IV - Clark, Pampanga; Quezon City; Manila; Alabang, Muntinlupa; Bacoor, Cavite; Obando, Bulacan;
  • Intensity III - Tagaytay; Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; Makati; Pasig; Taguig; Mandaluyong
  • Intensity II - Baguio City
