Typhoon ( Bagyong ) Hanna Update July 16, 2011






According to the Philippines weather bureau PAGASA as of 4:00 p.m. today, July 16, 2011 the eye of typhoon with international name "MA-ON" was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,440 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon (21.5°N, 137.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph.

Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to West will prevail over Luzon and coming from the Northwest over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
