July 2011 No more mass oath taking for NLE Passers ( Nurses )

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has scrapped the traditional mass oath-taking starting with the nursing graduates who passed the July 2011 nursing board exam.

PRC chairperson Teresita Manzala said the Board of Nursing (BON) issued an official communication withdrawing the request for the usual mass oath-taking saying that they empathized with Filipino families having to cope with the hard times, especially the middle-income class to which the majority of nurses belong. The PRC would still, however, administer the oath-taking either individually or in groups upon registration for nurse licenses with the PRC.
