Mariel Rodriguez bids goodbye to ABS-CBN






MANILA, Philippines - Television host Mariel Rodriguez finally confirmed reports that she is leaving the ABS-CBN network. According to Push.com.ph, she informed all of her fans about this decision through the K-text messages she sent Friday.



“Official. I said my thank yous to abs last wednesday. I will always be grateful for the breaks that they gave me, the unforgettable experiences and the wonderful people I met along the way,” she said. Rodriguez humbly acknowledged the fact that ABS-CBN played a big role in her career. In line with this, she also took the opportunity to thank everyone in the Kapamilya network.

Among the notable people she cited were ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez, President Charo Santos-Concio, Channel Head Cory Vidanes, TV Entertainment Head Linggit Tan and Corporate Communications Head Bong Osorio.

She also extended her sincerest gratitude to director Lauren Dyogi and "King of Talk" Boy Abunda who paved the way towards her big break.

“Direk lauren was the one who interviewed me when I was still in channel 7. Then direk lauren got me in his unit. I remember what tito boy told me when he said I was going to do pbb (Pinoy Big Brother)... Tito boy said 'mariel its not a lot of money but you are gna get the exposure of a lifetime' that's what tito boy told me. I never forgot.”

Rodriguez admitted that leaving ABS-CBN was a tough choice for her. “This is the hardest decision I've ever had to make. The hardest,” she said. However, she explained, “Sometimes there are things that u don't exactly want to do but have to do in order to grow.”

Despite her leaving, Rodriguez reiterated that she will always consider ABS-CBN as her home. “Abs is home. I don't like saying goodbye. I'm hopeful that one day I will see them all again. I grew up in abs. They made mariel rodriguez. Thank you abs-cbn. Thank you for the wonderful years!!!!!!!!”
