The 2011 First Ever 'Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition' Winner is Larry Martin






After 4 months of hardship and giving not just their efforts to lose weight. From the 12 overweight contestant trim down into 5 grand finalist.


Martin lost the highest weight percentage of 39.61% since ABS-CBN's "The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition" aired its first episode on May 30. He entered the Biggest Loser camp weighing 255 pounds and lost 101 pounds. He now weighs 154 pounds.

Martin took home P1 million, a condominium unit from DCMI Homes, a Vespa scooter, a 40-inch Sony Bravia Internet TV, Whirlpool appliances, P100,000 worth of salon services, and a lifetime gym membership from Fitness First.

Martin will also appear on the cover of the November issue of Men's Health magazine. Martin was a police officer in Camarines Sur, but was relieved from his post for failing to meet the 34-inch waistline limit.

Second place went to Art Mendoza, who lost 129 pounds or a weight percentage of 37.83% , Mendoza received P500,000, a Vespa scooter, Whirlpool appliances, P50,000 worth of salon services and a 1-year Fitness First membership. 

Raffy Tan, who came in 3rd, arrived in the Biggest Loser camp weighing 287 pounds and weighed 187 pounds on Saturday. Tan also brought home P500,000, a Vespa scooter, Fujidenzo Home Appliances, P25,000 worth of salon services, and a 1-year Fitness First membership.

Angela Chico-Lupangco, who lost 75 pounds, finished in 4th place. Rounding up the top 5 was Hazel Chua, who lost 68 pounds or a weight percentage of 33.01%.

ABS-CBN chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez was on hand for the show’s grand finale and surprised the top 5 contestants with the announcement that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placers will all receive P500,000 each.

Home winner

The 31-year-old Ryan Razon, meanwhile, was declared the first-ever Biggest Loser home winner after he lost 119 pounds or a weight percentage of 40.61%. From his starting weight of 293 pounds, Razon now weighs 174 pounds.

Razon received P200,000 and a 1-year membership from Fitness First. He edged out Alan Choachuy, who finished 2nd place. Choachuy entered the camp weighing 309 pounds, and weighed 184 pounds during the final weigh-in. 

Choachuy was 1-pound shy of beating Razon, losing a weight percentage of 40.45%. The Fab 5 of Angela Chico-Lupangco, Art Mendoza, Larry Martin, Hazel Chua and Raffy Tan were joined by the 11 “at-home” contestants, namely, Destiny Duarte, JM Oloris, Edden Cruz, Eric Limatog, Joy Siy, Ryan Razon, Alan 

Choachuy, Eboy Bautista, Andy Gomez de LiaƱo, Winwin Cabinta and Leigh Villegas for the final weigh-in at the Ynares Stadium in Pasig.
