American Singer Whitney Houston Dies at 48 years old

Houston, an American singer, actress, producer, and model. Houston was the most awarded female act of all time according to Guinness World Records.

Houston was declared dead in her room at the hotel about 4 p.m. after paramedics from the Beverly Hills Fire Department spent close to 30 minutes trying to revive her, the authorities said. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death. 

News of her death elicited a flood of reaction from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Singer Aretha Franklin said, "I just can't talk about it now. It's so stunning and unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was reading coming across the TV screen. My heart goes out to Cissy (Houston's mother), her daughter Bobbi Kris, her family and Bobby (Brown)."
