MMFF Entry Segunda Mano was Graded "A" by the Cinema Evaluation Board

One of Star Cinema’s official entries to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), “Segunda Mano” is graded “A” by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB). Segunda Mano is top-billed by the Queen of All Media (sometimes also referred as “Queen of Horror Films”) Ms. Kris Aquino, Dingdong Dantes, and Angelica Panganiban. It is produced by Star Cinema and directed by blockbuster director Bb. Joyce Bernal.

It literally means “second-hand” and it talks about second chances. Mabel Domingo (Kris Aquino), the owner of a high-class, but creepy, antique shop, only wants herself and her mother to move on from the tragic past of losing her sister as she carries the guilt of causing her death. She meets Ivan Galvez (Dingdong Dantes), a rich and successful architect who only wants to find the perfect wife and mother for his young daughter Angel to finally have a complete and happy family after his ex-wife (Angelica Panganiban) left him for another man. Since Ivan’s proposal, Mabel is haunted by an unknown ghost who seems to endanger everyone around her. As the terror escalates, she discovers an unexpected twist that will test her love for Ivan.

The trailer alone is already scary and intriguing, and Kris Aquino stakes her name for the movie. During a presscon of the movie, the actress said ”Kaya kong itataya hindi lang ang pangalan ko, kundi pangalan ng buong angkan namin, na it’s the best 20 minutes I’ve ever seen of any movie I’ve done.” “Actually the trailer is nothing [compared to] the movie—it’s 1 million times better.”
